61. Landscape Arch

A road trip in 2019 through the western United States (pre-COVID) found us in Arches National Park, Utah. Landscape Arch boggles the imagination – a graceful, slender arch of sandstone spanning hundreds of feet. Two years later, working in my studio from a photo I’d taken, I tried several new techniques to increase the depth and three-dimensionality of the image.

This piece belongs to my #ArtForGood project, where all proceeds are donated to a suitable nonprofit. For this piece, I donate funds to DiscNW‘s Youth Development Fund, which provides scholarships and program support for youth ultimate in the Greater Seattle area.
