4. Love is not for the Timid

Love is not for the Timid, L’ecu pastels on paper, 2008

A tender profusion of intricate, pale yellow rose petals.  Creamy.  Delicate.  Yet look closer, and you see the traces of bloodied fingers on the rose petals.  No one escapes, not even the Symbol of Love Herself, from either the joys or the anguish of love.  Love is not for the timid and faint of heart, and no one who truly falls in love escapes unscathed.

It is that we would bleed for love, willingly, which gives love the power to heal.
